Bear Spring Mountain Wildlife Management Area, located in the western end of the Catskill Forest Preserve, offers a serene and natural environment. The area is home to a variety of wildlife, including white-tailed deer, black bear, and wild turkey. The Bear Spring Mountain Campground, situated within the area, features a beach, boat rentals, and multi-use trails, making it an ideal spot for both relaxation and adventure.
The campground is divided into two areas: the Launt Pond Area, which serves as the main campground, and the Spruce Grove Area, located 3.5 miles away. Both areas offer access to amenities like picnic tables, grills, and playgrounds. The region's diverse topography, ranging from steep mountainsides to gentle valleys, supports a rich variety of hardwood forests and old apple orchards.
