Overview

Located in the southern part of the town of Little Egg Harbor Township in Ocean County, Graveling Point Beach is a small beige sand beach.  The beach is positioned adjacent to Great Bay Marina along the shores of Great Bay and has a beautiful backdrop of many oceanfront buildings, which together provide incredible views of the vast Atlantic Ocean.  The beach is part of the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge, which preserves the fragile ecosystem and biodiversity of the region.

Amenities

Graveling Point Beach does not have lifeguards but has several other amenities, including portable washrooms and boat ramps. 

Activities

Graveling Point Beach offers a few fun activities, including swimming, sunbathing, beachcombing, boating, kayaking, canoeing, and fishing.  If you are planning to go into the water, it has a safe swimming area.  The water near the beach is shallow, which is ideal for canoes, kayaks, and small boats.  If you intend to fish on this beach, you may catch striped bass, bluefish, weakfish, summer flounder, black sea bass, flounder, mullets, eels, and clams.   It is a perfect spot for visitors looking for a tranquil beach experience, as this beach sees fewer visitors than other nearby beaches.  Dogs are allowed if they are on a leash, and the beach is open from sunrise until sunset.

Disability Access

Graveling Point Beach does not offer an access path for people with disabilities.

Parking

Getting to Graveling Point Beach is easy - the beach has a dirt parking lot located at 1499 Radio Road, which provides easy access to the beach.

Fun Fact

Visitors can spot the remains of shipwrecks and abandoned docks, which provide a unique insight into the area's maritime history.  Despite its small length, Graveling Point Beach is a popular spot for enjoying the sunset over the northern tip of the New Jersey shoreline.

Attractions

There are many attractions near Graveling Point Beach.  Tuckerton Seaport Museum is a small maritime museum positioned along Tuckerton Creek that showcases the maritime history of the New Jersey shoreline and the Barnegat Bay region through exhibits, photographs, and related memorabilia.  In addition, it hosts interesting events, festivals, educational programs, field trips, and outdoor exhibits throughout the year.  Absecon Lighthouse is a 171-foot-high historic lighthouse built in 1857 that is recognized as the tallest lighthouse in the city and is positioned along the New Jersey Shoreline.  It serves as a critical navigational aid for ships in the region, guiding them safely past the harbor of Atlantic City.  Visitors can also climb to the top of the lighthouse, which offers panoramic views of Atlantic City.  In addition, it also has a small museum and a visitor center that provide intriguing insight into the maritime history of the region.  Atlantic City Boardwalk is a four-mile-long boardwalk along the New Jersey shoreline that features many restaurants, shops, hotels, casinos, gaming arcades, and an amusement pier.  It hosts many interesting events, concerts, marathons, and festivals throughout the year.  Fantasy Island Amusement Park is a family-friendly amusement park that features a splash pad, train rides, and many other fun carnival rides, including a carousel, Ferris wheel, bumper cars, train rides, and a gaming arcade.  If you are looking for another nearby attraction, Heritage Park has a memorial that pays homage to all who lost their lives in the 9/11 attack.  The park offers many amenities, including a large playground with a swing set, benches, a fountain, and paved paths.  In addition, it hosts events on Veterans Day and Memorial Day.

Restaurants

If you get hungry, there are many great restaurants within an eight-minute drive of Graveling Point Beach.  Cuisine on the Green serves incredible salads, pastas, bruschetta, ribs, chops, seafood, meat, poultry dishes, and desserts.  The Grapevineserves amazing salads, pizzas, burgers, seafood, meat, and poultry dishes.  Mystic Islands Casino serves salads, burgers, sandwiches, pasta, seafood, meat, and poultry dishes.  Mystic Island Pizza is an Italian restaurant that serves incredible salads, pizzas, submarine sandwiches, steaks, and pasta.  If you are looking for another good and affordable nearby restaurant, El Rancho Mexican Restaurant serves burritos, fajitas, salads, tacos, quesadillas, nachos, and enchiladas.

Hotels

If you are looking for a hotel near Graveling Point Beach, there are many great options nearby.  If you are looking for an upscale hotel, the 5-Star Ocean Casino Resort is 42 minutes away by car and offers many amenities, including indoor and outdoor pools, a spa, a sauna, a fitness center, two nightclubs, a concert venue, and ten restaurants.  A more affordable hotel is the 4-Star Seaview Hotel, a Dolce by Wyndham, which has many amenities, including indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness center, an art gallery, and restaurants by Bobby Flay and Wolfgang Puck.  Another moderately priced option is the 4-Star Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, which has many amenities including indoor and outdoor pools, a spa, hot tubs, a fitness center, a casino, boutiques, a modern Japanese pub, an American steakhouse, and a restaurant.  A more reasonably priced option is the beachfront 3-Star Marriott's Fairway Villas, which offers many amenities including indoor and outdoor pools, a hot tub, a fitness center, jogging trails, and a convenience store.  If you are looking for another good and affordable nearby hotel, the beachfront 3-Star Residence Inn by Marriott Atlantic City Airport Egg Harbor Township has many amenities including an indoor pool, a sport court, a fitness center, a barbecue grill facility, and a complimentary breakfast.
