If you are looking for a hotel near Belmar Beach, there are many great nearby options within a 25-minute drive.  The 4-Star Wave Resort & Spa offers many amenities including multiple restaurants, a bar, seasonal firepits, an ATM, bike loaner facilities, a seasonal pool, a private beach area, a gym, a salon, a spa, and a kids’ playroom.  The 4-Star Ocean Place Resort and Spa is another upscale hotel that offers many amenities including multiple restaurants and bars, multiple pools, a gift shop, a games area, a spa, and a fitness center.  A more affordable hotel is the 3-Star The Asbury Hotel offers many amenities including a pool table, multiple bars and restaurants, a rooftop lounge, and a pool.  The 3-Star Chateau Inn & Suites is another moderately priced hotel that offers many amenities including a lounge, a patio, outdoor sitting areas, and a lawn.  If you are looking for another good and affordable nearby hotel, the 3-Star The Majestic Hotel offers many amenities including a porch and complimentary breakfast.

Belmar Beach offers lifeguards between 9 am and 5:30 pm on weekdays, and between 9 am and 6 pm on weekends.  The beach has lifeguards on a seasonal basis.  In addition to lifeguards, this beach has many other amenities including restrooms, a nearby boardwalk, picnic areas, showers, and a playground.  Please note that most of the restrooms here are seasonally open to visitors – you can visit the website of the Borough of Belmar for more information for the exact seasonal duration of restroom availability. 

Dogs on leash are allowed at Belmar Beach between October 1 and April 30th.  Dogs are not allowed at the beach during the remaining time of the year.

Belmar Beach offers many fun activities including sunbathing, beachcombing, picnicking, fishing, swimming, surfing, kitesurfing, windsurfing, parasailing, boating, bodysurfing, bodyboarding, skimboarding, water-skiing, wakeboarding, jet-skiing, kayaking, canoeing, surf-skiing, and wildlife watching. 

If you are planning to swim, kayak, surf, canoe, or paddleboard here, we recommend being careful because the water here is known to have unpredictable rip currents and dangerous waves.  You can check the Belmar Beach live cam online to see the current water conditions at the beach. 

If you are planning to boogieboard near the beach, please note that boogieboarding is permitted near the western ends of 7th Avenue, 14th Avenue, and 20th Avenue.  In addition, surfing here is permitted near the western end of 17th Avenue and 18th Avenue. 

We recommend visiting this beach in late summers because the Belmar Beach water temperature is ideal for water activities during this season.

Getting to this beach is easy and Belmar Beach directions are simple – this beach is located near 601 Main Street Belmar.  There are multiple free and paid parking lots nearby.  If you are planning to park here, you can visit the Borough of Belmar’s official website for more information on the parking charges.

It is also important to note that you need to purchase and wear a “beach badge” to visit this beach between Memorial Day and Labour Day.  On Fridays, weekends, and public holidays, beach badges are required between 9 am and 6 pm.  On weekdays, beach badges are required between 9 am and 5 pm.  If you want to purchase a beach badge, you can visit the Borough of Belmar’s website for more information regarding purchase of the beach badges. 

The name of this beach and Borough – Belmar – means “beautiful sea” in the Italian language.  Belmar Beach also hosts many fun events including an event named Autism Beach Bash that commemorates visitors with Autism Spectrum Disorder, a volleyball tournament named Belmar Beach Volleyball League, and a movie screening series named “Movies on the Beach”. 

There are many attractions near Belmar Beach.  Maclearie Park is a recreational park that offers many amenities including a picnic area, a playground, and tennis courts.  Belmar Arts Center is an art gallery and arts center that offers many interesting artistic exhibitions featuring local artists – this center also hosts live music performances and it also hosts arts classes and workshops.  Belmar Historical Society & Museum offers interesting exhibitions on local history and it also has a gift shop.  If you like shopping, the Borough of Belmar’s Main Street offers many interesting shopping stores.  If you like live music, The Stone Pony is a famous live music venue that offers many fun and exciting live music performances and it has hosted many eminent musicians including Bruce Springsteen and Steve Van Zandt.  If you are looking for another attraction near the beach, Go Play Arcade is a gaming arcade that offers a variety of fun games.
