Located on the northeastern part of the island of Oahu in the small town of Laie, Temple Beach Park – also known as Temple Beach – has a small white sand beach.
Amenities
Temple Beach Park does not have lifeguards or any other amenities, so plan your trip accordingly. Dogs are not allowed here at the beach, and the beach is open from sunrise until sunset.
Activities
Temple Beach Park offers many fun activities including sunbathing, beachcombing, swimming, and snorkeling. If you are planning to go in the water near the beach, Temple Beach Park is an ideal location for swimming and snorkeling, but we recommend being careful as the water here is known to have unpredictable rip currents. It is an excellent place to relax and unwind oneself, as Temple Beach Park offers breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. If you enjoy surfing, this beach often has frequently windy weather. In addition, Temple Beach Park is perfect for visitors seeking a quiet experience, as this beach sees fewer visitors than other nearby beaches.
Parking
Getting to Temple Beach Park is difficult - the beach has no parking area, but visitors can park their vehicle at nearby Laie’s Shopping center located at 55-510 Kamehameha Highway. After parking, you will need to walk around five minutes northwest to the beach. We recommend being careful while crossing the road as it is an active state highway.
Attractions
There are many attractions near Temple Beach Park. Gunstock Ranch is a 900-acre working cattle ranch set against the Ko’olau Mountains. It offers many fun activities including interesting Hawaii eco-tours, horseback rides, tree plantings, and exciting off-road adventures. Polynesian Cultural Center is a popular cultural attraction spread out over 42 acres that offers incredible cultural experiences of six different island nations (Hawaii, Samoa, Aotearoa, Fiji, Tonga, Maori, and Tahiti) through dances, songs, games, activities, and food. In addition, it also hosts Hawaii Luau (a Hawaiian feast featuring lively music and vibrant cultural performances from Hawaii and Polynesia), as well as an evening show called Hā–Breath of Life that features over 100 Polynesian natives. If you are looking for another attraction near Temple Beach Park, Kualoa Ranch is a 4,000-acre private nature reserve with a working cattle ranch and a popular filming location. It offers many guided tours and experiences including Hollywood movie sites tours, multi-passenger ATV raptor tours, horseback riding tours, Jurassic jungle expeditions, secret island beach adventures, Jurassic valley zip lines, electric mountain biking, ocean voyage adventure rides, and the Aloha Aina tour. The ranch also has forests, grasslands, and mountainous trails that offer amazing views of the landscape.

Pounders Restaurant offers amazing Hawaiian-inspired cuisine that is prepared from locally sourced ingredients including steaks, Hawaiian-inspired pizzas, seafood, pasta, chicken wings, salads, poultry dishes, lamb dishes, burgers, and desserts. Ted’s Bakery is a bakery that offers amazing baked desserts. In addition, the restaurant also serves amazing dishes for lunch and breakfast including burgers, sandwiches, seafood, chicken, and barbecued rib platters. This restaurant has also been repeatedly awarded first place in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser newspaper’s annual Hawaii’s Best awards.
