Located along the northern shoreline of the island of Maui, D.T. Fleming Beach Park - also known as Fleming Beach Park and D.T.Fleming Park - is a grassy recreational park that has a large crescent-shaped beach with light brown sand. This beach is known as Fleming Beach and Honokahua Beach. The beach in D.T. Fleming Beach Park is situated between two lava rock outcroppings along the shores of Honokahua Bay in the town of Kapalua. Ironwood trees and palm trees are present near the beach in D.T. Fleming Beach Park. A small reef is present in the water near the eastern end of the beach. D.T. Fleming Beach Park is named after a locally renowned botanist, horticulturist, and politician David Thomas Fleming, who was also responsible for introducing the commercial cultivation of pineapples in West Maui. The beach in D.T Fleming Beach Park has been named one of the Top 100 beaches in the United States by Randall Kaplan, the world’s foremost beach expert who is known as Mr. Beach.
