The Seven Pools, part of the Oheo Gulch in Haleakala National Park, Kipahulu, is a breathtaking natural formation featuring numerous freshwater pools and waterfalls. Located about 30 minutes past Hana, it offers stunning views and is a popular stop on the Road to Hana. This area is known for its lush vegetation and tranquil atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for nature lovers. Despite its nickname, there are more than seven pools to explore.
The site is not just beautiful but also steeped in history and cultural significance. However, swimming in the pools is currently prohibited due to safety concerns. Visitors can still enjoy the surroundings and hike the nearby Pipiwai Trail, which leads to the impressive Waimoku Falls.
The area is also rich in wildlife and home to ancient Hawaiian artifacts, making it a significant cultural site. Visitors are encouraged to respect this sacred land by staying on designated paths and not littering.
