Charlton Recreation Area is nestled in the Ouachita National Forest, about 20 miles west of Hot Springs, Arkansas. It offers a serene escape with activities like swimming, fishing, and hiking along picturesque Walnut Creek. The area features a historic stone dam and bathhouse built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, creating a unique and captivating swimming area.
The campground is divided into three loops, providing a range of amenities from basic tent sites to RV sites with electric and water hookups. Visitors can enjoy a peaceful stay surrounded by nature, with access to hiking trails like the Prayer in the Woods Trail and the Charlton Trail.
