Located in the cosmopolitan city of Barcelona, Somorrostro Beach is a long, wide, and beige-colored beach that is a part of the neighborhood of Somorrostro. Also known as Playa del Somorrostro, Somorrostro Beach was named after the same neighborhood in 1960 and is among the most popular beaches in Barcelona. Somorrostro Beach is situated adjacent to the very popular neighborhood of La Barceloneta that hosted the 1992 Olympics Games which led to a radical transformation and growth in the tourism of this neighborhood and its beaches. Somorrostro Beach has been awarded the Blue Flag for its cleanliness. Somorrostro Beach runs along a promenade that has many restaurants, cafes, and bars – you can also walk, jog, or ride a bike here.
