Troya

Located in the town of Arona, Playa de Troya is a long, wide, and beige-colored sand beach that is one of the five main beaches that are part of a holiday resort town named Playa de las Americas.  Playa de las Americas is situated in Tenerife which is the largest of the seven Canary Islands of Spain.  Playa de las Americas is the center of nightlife in Tenerife and features many bars, nightclubs, restaurants, and beaches.  Also known as Playa de Troya Beach, Playa de Troya is protected by breakwaters on both ends making it a great spot for swimming.  Playa de Troya Beach is backed by palm trees and runs along a promenade that has many restaurants, nightclubs, and stores.

Getting to Playa de Troya is very easy – there is a free parking lot at 38660 Playa de las Américas, Santa Cruz de Tenerife.  After parking, you will need to walk 10 minutes west to get to the beach. 

If you are looking for attractions near Playa de Troya, you can drive nine minutes to Siam Park which is a Thai-themed water park with a water slide, wave pool, mat racing slides, raft rides, and the Mad Thai River – the world’s longest lazy river.  Aqualand Costa Adeje is an open-air adventure park with many rides including tsunami, circlones, gravity, kamikazes, tornado, multisurf, twister racer, and flying boats.  Dolphinarium is located at 38660 Costa Adeje, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and features dolphin shows, swimming with dolphins, and touch tanks.  Another great attraction near Playa de Troya is Fountain Las Americas that is located at Av. las Américas, 5, 38660 Arona, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and offers a fountain show, live music, and many bars, cafés, and restaurants. 

If you get hungry, there are many restaurants within a six-minute drive of Playa de Troya.  The lively beachside restaurant La Terrazza Del Mare has an incredible lounge-like vibe and is well-known for its cocktails, comfort food, and sea views – it has a nice menu including tuna, monkfish, margherita pizza, che, lemon pie, chocolate fondant, and whiskey.  Almar Tenerife serves tuna tartar, cod filet, duck magret, paella, desserts, beer, wine, and champagne on a waterfront terrace with live music.  El Gomero is located at Av. V Centenario, 1, 38660 Costa Adeje, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and features authentic Spanish and Mediterranean food items such as seafood paella, gazpacho, house wine, and sangria in an elegant setting with modern decoration and an open kitchen.  Another good restaurant near Playa de Troya is The Cheeky Turtle of Las Americas that is located at Tenerife, Av. Arquitecto Gómez Cuesta, 6, 38660 Playa de la Américas, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and has a nice menu that includes filet steaks, salmon, pasta, cheesecakes, ice creams, and wine.  The Cheeky Turtle of Las Americas also has outdoor seating with incredible city and sea views.
