Overview
Located in the town of Santiago del Teide on the western part of the island of Tenerife, Argel Beach is a small, narrow, and black sand beach that is situated on the north side of the mouth of a river named Barranco de Santiago. Also known as Playa de Argel, Argel Beach is a popular tourist spot because it is adjacent to a marina called Puerto Deportivo Los Gigantes. Argel Beach is backed by palm trees and runs along a promenade that has many restaurants, nightclubs, and stores.

Getting to Argel Beach is very easy – there is a paid parking lot that has 50 parking spots and is located at C. Pob. Marinero, S/n, 38683 Acantilados de Los Gigantes, Santa Cruz de Tenerife. After parking, you will need to walk two minutes west to get to the access stairway.

Argel Beach is also called Black Sand Beach as its sand is composed of tiny black volcanic particles.

Restaurante Plaza is a very lively beachside restaurant that has an incredible lounge-like vibe and is well-known for its cocktails, comfort food, and sea views – it has a nice menu including tuna, monkfish, margherita pizza, che, lemon pie, chocolate fondant, and whiskey. Casa Pepe serves tuna tartar, cod filet, duck magret, paella, desserts, beer, wine, and champagne on a waterfront terrace with live music. Fisherman’s Inn is another good restaurant – it features authentic Spanish and Mediterranean food items such as seafood paella, gazpacho, house wine, and sangria in an elegant setting with modern decoration and an open kitchen. If you are looking for another good restaurant near Argel Beach,La Pergola has a nice menu that includes filet steaks, salmon, pasta, cheesecakes, ice creams, and wine.
