Cala d'Hort

Located on the southwestern coast of Ibiza near San Jose, Cala d'Hort is a crescent-shaped 200-meter-long and 30-meter-wide white sand beach with many rocky portions.  The beach has an amazing background of pine-covered hills, fishermen's huts, and two restaurants.  In addition, there are two inhabited islands composed of limestone known for their unique geological formations that lie just off this stretch of coast, namely Es Vedra and Es Vadranell, that provide Instagram-worthy views, especially during the sunset.  The beach has been awarded the Blue Flag certification due to its cleanliness and water quality standards.

Cala d'Hort has many amenities, including lifeguards, restaurants, restrooms, showers, a pier, a beach boutique, shady areas, parasol, and sunbed rental facilities.  It is important to remember that the beach is designated as a non-smoking area, and we encourage that you respect this. 

Cala d'Hort is a family-friendly beach that offers many fun activities, including swimming, sunbathing, kayaking, canoeing, beachcombing, diving, snorkeling, paddleboarding, windsurfing, and picnicking.  If you are planning to go into the water, there is a safe swimming area marked with yellow floats.  The water near the beach is shallow, which is ideal for canoes, kayaks, and small boats.  If you enjoy snorkeling, this beach offers amazing opportunities to explore the underwater world.  It is also an ideal spot for windsurfing due to its frequently windy weather.  Visitors can book a day tour to explore the nearby small, inhabited island of Es Vedra.  Cala d'Hort is perfect for visitors looking for a tranquil beach experience, as this beach sees fewer visitors than other nearby beaches.  Dogs are not allowed on the beach, and the beach is open from sunrise until sunset.

Getting to Cala d'Hort is easy - it has free street parking spots located at the end of Torrent d’en Pere Massa, which is easily accessible via PMV-803-1 and provides easy access to the beach.   It is important to note that there is no bus or any other public transport that brings visitors closer to the beach.

Cala d'Hort is featured in the 2016 film "The Light Between Oceans," directed by Derek Cianfrance and based on the novel of the same name by M.L. Stedman.  This movie attracted international attention to the allure of this spectacular location, which further contributed to its popularity among tourists and travelers.

There are many attractions near Cala d'Hort.  Ibiza Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Snows, was built in the 13th century in the Catalan Gothic style and is distinguished by its pointed arches, ribbed vaults, and flying buttresses.  It has a square-shaped bell tower known as the Torre de les Hores, which dominates the Ibiza skyline.  Ibiza Museum of Contemporary Art is a small museum that showcases the artwork of local and international artists.  The museum exhibits a permanent collection, which includes the collection of the artist whose artwork is greatly influenced by the island of Ibiza.  Dalt Vila is a historic town positioned on a hill on the island of Ibiza, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.  It is famous for its Renaissance walls and fortifications with military cannons and tunnels, which were built in the 16th century to protect the town from pirate attacks.  In the present, this town offers a variety of restaurants, nightclubs, art galleries, and shops where visitors can buy trinkets and handicrafts from the region and enjoy authentic Balearic food.
