Introduction

Overview

Angelsharks are characterized by a flattened, ray-like body with large pectoral fins that extend forward, giving them a wing-like appearance. Their eyes are located on top of their head, and their mouth is positioned on the underside of their head. Unlike other sharks, angelsharks lack a distinct dorsal fin and have a short, blunt snout. They are also distinguished by their small, gill slits located on the underside of their body.
