Located in the old town of Albufeira in the Algarve region of Portugal, Praia dos Pescadores - also known as Fishermans Beach and Fisherman’s Beach - is a 225-meter-long and 106-meter-wide golden sand beach with many rocky formations. This famous beach encompasses two small beaches, Praia do Tunel and Praia do Inatel, which are separated by a protruding cliff in the middle of the beach. A concrete pier that covers the outflow of the Ribeira de Albufeira (Albufeira River) divides Praia do Inatel from Praia dos Pescadores to its eastern side, while a jutting cliff from Praia do Tunel splits the beach at its western edge.
Praia dos Pescadores Albufeira is positioned below the steep cliffs and is adjacent to the well-known Praia De Albufeira with a beautiful backdrop of golden limestone cliffs, hidden caves, coastal vegetation, several fisherman huts, bright-colored fishing boats, and many oceanfront buildings, including homes, luxurious hotels, and upscale restaurants, which together provide spectacular views of the vast North Atlantic Ocean. It is important to note that the rugged cliffs at the beach are subject to erosion, so we recommend being careful while below, as there is a possibility of falling rocks and stones. Praia dos Pescadores has been awarded the Blue Flag certification due to its cleanliness and water quality standards.
