Located in a neighborhood of Areias de Sao Joao on the eastern side of the town of Albufeira in the Algarve, Praia da Oura - also known as Oura Beach - is a 900-meter-long and 450-meter-wide famous golden sand beach with many rocky formations. This well-known beach is tucked between Praia dos Aveiros to the west and Praia de Santa Eulalia to the east. Praia da Oura is positioned below the steep cliffs and has a beautiful background of rugged limestone cliffs, coastal vegetation, hidden coves, and many oceanfront buildings, including shops, supermarkets, beach bars, restaurants, and opulent hotels, which together provide Instagram-worthy views of the ocean. The beach is divided into three main portions - the central and western sections are very popular in the summer, but the eastern end of the beach, also known as Oura East Beach or Praia dos Bicos, is quieter with very few amenities.
