Praia do Malhao, commonly known as Malhao Beach, is a vast, sandy beach in the north of Vila Nova de Milfontes. Located in the Sudoeste Alentejano national park, Malhao Beach is almost completely isolated from surrounding life. Although it is protected by large rocks behind it and has large rock areas closer to the ocean, Praia do Malhao enjoys expansive areas of soft and luscious sand. Despite waves that are ideal for surfing, there aren't any local rentals.
