Located on the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula in the town of Casa Fortuna in the municipality of Los Cabos, Lovers Beach - also known as Lover’s Beach or Playa de los Amantes- is an immensely popular but small beige sand beach with many rocky portions. The beach is tucked between two prominent jagged granite rock formations and is positioned at Land’s End next to the iconic natural sea arch known as the Arch of Cabo San Lucas, where the Sea of Cortez (also known as the Gulf of California) meets the Pacific Ocean. It is also a favorite of Randall Kaplan, the world’s foremost beach expert who is known as Mr. Beach.
Lovers Beach is connected to another well-known beach named . Lovers Beach is situated along the Sea of Cortez on the eastern end of the famous Arch of Cabo San Lucas, whereas Divorce Beach is located on the west side of the arch and faces the Pacific Ocean. When you arrive at Lover’s Beach, you can walk 200 feet through tall rocks to Divorce Beach. The waves are usually calm at Lovers Beach, which offers amazing opportunities for snorkeling and swimming, but Divorce Beach is too dangerous to swim with its turbulent water and unpredictable rip currents. Despite being divided by enormous rocks, these two beaches are still connected, and tourists can experience these two oceans with distinct characteristics by conveniently walking from one beach to another.
