Bioluminescent Beaches in United States

Located in New Jersey’s quaint Monmouth County, Manasquan Beach is a family friendly beach paradise. Just an hour outside of New York City, Manasquan is easily accessible with plentiful parking and exudes small-town charm.

With glistening golden sand, crystal clear turquoise water, picturesque oceanside walkways, and striking greenery, Manasquan Beach looks like it belongs on a postcard. But it’s more than just a pretty sight. It’s a hotspot for beachgoers and adventurers who enjoy the beach’s abundant amenities. Manasquan’s clean restrooms, changing rooms, beach lockers, lifeguard stations, wheelchair ramps, and nearby ATM machines make it the perfect place to lounge comfortably on the sand. The beach is also popular among surfers, kayakers, and boaters, as its mild waves at low tide and intense waves at high tide make it ideal for water sports.

Unlike many beaches in New Jersey, Manasquan Beach does not have a boardwalk. Instead, there’s a small downtown centered around Main St. that’s lined with Manasquan’s best local restaurants and dessert shops. At Blend on Main, beachgoers feast on the area’s best globally-inspired surf and turf, which includes scrumptious Filet Mignon and Shellfish Linguini. For a quick bite, head to Surf Taco, a casual local spot known for their authentic and fresh fish tacos. Craving something sweet? Sundaes The Ice Cream Place offers excellent freshly churned ice cream and great cakes. When you’re done with your night on the town, check into the Twin Oaks Motel, the Inn on Main, or the Salty Whale & Guest House for spacious rooms, central locations, and friendly small-town hospitality.

Located in the central part of the San Diego County shoreline, Torrey Pines State Beach - South Beach is situated on the southern part of a state park known as Torrey Pines State Beach. The beach has light brown sand and is situated below a steep and unstable bluff. The beach is located south of the creek flowing into the ocean from the adjacent Los Peñasquitos Marsh Natural Reserve. The beach terrain is pebbly and portions of the beach near the bluff side have been fixed with rocky embankments to prevent erosion. The state park gets its name from a rare local variety of pine trees, the Torrey pine, which grows in the state park area near the beach. 

Located near the Bahia Resort Hotel, Bahia Point Park is a grassy park that has an unnamed beach with light brown sand and a curved shape. This beach is also known as Bahia Point Park Beach and Bahia Point Beach. Bahia Point Park is situated in the Bahia Point peninsula along the Mission Bay shoreline and is a part of a larger municipal aquatic park known as Mission Bay Park. Bahia Point Park does not have lifeguards. However, the park has many other amenities including restrooms, picnic tables, and fire-pits. Dogs on leash are allowed in the park before 9 am and after 6 pm between April and October. Between November and March dogs are allowed before 9 am and after 4 pm. Getting to Bahia Point Park is easy - the park is located near 998 West Mission Bay Drive, where a free parking lot is also available. You can easily walk to the beach from this parking lot.
