Best Family Friendly Beaches in Avalon

Located in the city of Avalon, Lovers Cove is very narrow, rocky, and an excellent snorkeling destination on the east side of Catalina Island. 

Crescent Beach, Avalon's main beach, is divided into three parts: South, Middle, and Step Beach. All three beaches are perfect for families, as they are lifeguard-protected and in close proximity to shops, restaurants, water sports companies, and boat rental companies. Make sure to claim a spot early, however, because the dry spots on the beach are quite limited. Everybody loves a good beach day, and everybody loves all that Crescent Beach has to offer.

Located in the city of Avalon, Hamilton Cove is a small public beach situated in a private community called Hamilton Cove on Santa Catalina Island. Also known as Hamilton Beach, Hamilton Cove is surrounded by many popular and beautiful villas and condos that rise up along a steep 100-foot tall hillside.
