Lake Kariba is the largest manmade lake in the world, created by the Kariba Dam. It is divided between Zambia and Zimbabwe, with Siavonga being the major Zambian city on the lake and where the major beaches are located. The lake is known for its beautiful sunsets and great weather, though temperatures rise during the summer. The famous Victoria Falls flows into Lake Kariba as well.
Lake Tanganyika is a massive fresh water lake and specifically an African Great Lake. It is considered the longest lake in the world, with over four countries sharing the lake's waters. It is also the second deepest lake in the world. The main city in Zambia connected to the lake is Mpulungu, with plenty of water and sightseeing activities to do.
Lake Bangweulu is known for its beautiful scenery and wildlife, making it a wonderful destination for animal and eco sightseeing. The lake itself is a beautiful grey blue which is said to blend with sky at the horizon, hence the name Bangweulu means "The Place Where the Water Meets the Sky". The main industry in the area is fishing as Lake Bangweulu has the largest fisheries in Zambia but tourism is common as well.
