Takanabe Beach Resort is one of the most popular beaches in the Miyazaki Prefecture. It is famous for its beautiful transparent ocean water. During the summer, many families come to the beach with their children. There is a camping place open by the pine grove during the swimming season. From there one can enjoy camping while listening to the sound of the waves. On the south side of the beach, there are some famous surf points. This coastal area is also known as a spawning ground for loggerhead turtles, In 2006, it was chosen as "100 Buddha Baths" by the Ministry of the Environment.
