La Frasca is located about 9 kilometers from the Port of Civitavecchia and is known as the great green lung of the city. It is designated as a Natural Monument by the Lazio Region, showcasing significant natural, landscape, and historical-archeological interest. The area spans 73.77 hectares and features a jagged coast with small bays and inlets, making it an ideal spot for snorkeling and exploring marine life.
La Frasca includes ancient Roman fish ponds and an extensive pine forest, providing a cool shelter during summer. It is a rich biodiversity hotspot with 45 species of avifauna and various plant species adapted to coastal environments.
Historical sites include the ancient harbor of Columna and the Torre Valdaliga sighting tower, adding to its charm and historical significance.
