Sikia Beach

Located in the southeastern part of the Pelion Peninsula, near the village of Milies in Thessaly, Greece, Sikia Beach - also known as Paralia Sikia—is a small pebbly beach with few sandy portions.  This sheltered beach is located approximately fifty-five kilometers from the city of Volos along the Aegean Sea and has an amazing backdrop of cliffs, olive groves, fig trees, pine trees, and several oceanfront buildings, which together offer incredible views of the coast.  The beach's name "Sikia" means "fig tree" in Greek, referring to the fig trees found in the region.  Also, this beach is promoted as an ecotourism destination, encouraging sustainable tourism practices that preserve its natural environment and marine life.

Sikia Beach does not have lifeguards or any other amenities, except a few nearby Greek taverns, so plan your trip accordingly.
