Getting to Sveti Ivan Beach is easy - the beach has a parking lot located at Prilaz Boncaluka 12, 51523, Baska, near Bunculuka Camping Resort, which provides easy access to the beach.  Alternatively, visitors can take a well-marked moderately challenging St. Ivan Trail that leads to the beach, or you can book a private boat tour from Baska Harbor to reach the beach by sea. The beach got its name from the ruins of a medieval church dedicated to St. John (Sveti Ivan) found near the beach.

There are many attractions near Sveti Ivan Beach.  The Baska Heritage Museum offers interesting insights into the region's rich history and local culture, showcasing traditional tools, folk costumes, and historical artifacts from Baška and its surrounding areas.  Visitors can explore the medieval heritage of Croatia and learn more about the island’s connection to the Glagolitic alphabet.  Kastel Baska is a historic fortress that dates back to the medieval period and played a key role in defending the town and surrounding areas against invaders.  Presently, the original structure is in ruins.  However, the remains of the fortress still stand as a memorial to Baška's rich historical past and provide picturesque views of the town and Adriatic Sea.

Adriatic Aquarium Baska offers an interesting insight into the diverse marine life of the Adriatic Sea, including species of fish, crabs, groupers, sea horses, moray eels, and octopuses.  It also has displays of beautiful Adriatic corals and sea anemones.  The tanks are designed to replicate the natural habitats of these species, giving visitors a glimpse into the underwater world surrounding the Croatian coastline.  St. Lucy Church is a historic Romanesque church with great cultural and national significance in Croatia, as it is where the famous Bašćanska Ploča, an ancient stone tablet, was discovered in 1851, making it a symbol of Croatian heritage.  This script is one of the earliest written documents in the Croatian language, highlighting the historical importance of the church as a center of early Croatian literacy and Christian worship. If you are looking for another nearby attraction, Plateau des Mondes - also known as Moon Plateau, is a three-kilometer-long moderately challenging hiking trail that meanders through diverse natural landscapes, including Mediterranean vegetation and limestone formations, and leads to rocky and barren terrain that resembles the surface of the moon, giving it its name.  The plateau offers a surreal, lunar-like landscape, and the breathtaking panoramic views of the Adriatic Sea and surrounding islands make the journey worthwhile.
