Beach Mala Kolumbarica

Located on the southern tip of the Istrian peninsula in Premantura, Croatia, Beach Mala Kolombarica - also known as Mala Kolombarica Beach, Kolombarica Beach, and Plaza Mala Kolombarica - is a small, rocky beach with no sand.  It is positioned within the Kamenjak Nature Park on a rocky plateau of the Cape of Kamenjak and has a spectacular backdrop of rugged rock formations and Mediterranean vegetation, creating a picturesque setting along the Adriatic Sea.  Mala Kolombarica Beach is promoted as an ecotourism destination, encouraging sustainable tourism practices to preserve the natural beauty, flora, and fauna of the region.

Although Beach Mala Kolombarica does not have lifeguards or many other amenities,  there are nearby restrooms, an ATM machine, and a bar.

Mala Kolombarica Beach offers several fun activities, including swimming, sunbathing, snorkeling, watching wildlife, cliff jumping, cliff diving, kayaking, biking, photography, hiking, kayaking, paddleboarding, windsurfing, scuba diving, cycling, and exploring sea caves.  If you plan to go into the water, swimming is allowed, but we recommend being careful as water is known to have unpredictable rip currents.  Snorkelers and divers may spot the diverse marine life that thrives in the underwater caves and tunnels, which offer a full spectrum of coral, tropical fish, and larger sea creatures, especially along the rocks at either end of the beach.  This beach is a famous cliff-jumping spot where visitors can explore the Kolombarica underwater cave and many rock formations.  The beach features unique limestone formations along the shore, creating natural platforms for sunbathing.  Hikers can enjoy the nearby hiking trails, which offer unique insights into the local biodiversity.  It is known for its scenic beauty, cliffside views, turquoise waters, and picturesque setting of the beach, which make it a perfect location for taking the best beach photos, particularly during sunrise or sunset.  Dogs are not allowed on the beach, and the beach is open from sunrise until sunset.

Mala Kolombarica Beach does not offer an access path for people with disabilities.

Getting to Mala Kolombarica Beach is easy - the beach has a parking lot located near Rt. Kamenjak, 52100, Premantura, Croatia.  After parking, visitors have to hike on a rugged path for around five minutes from the nearby Safari Bar to access the beach.

There are many attractions near Mala Kolombarica Beach.  Kamenjak Nature Park is a protected area that is home to more than 500 plant species and is known for its dramatic cliffs, numerous hidden coves, beaches, breathtaking natural beauty, crystal-clear waters, and diverse landscapes.  Visitors can enjoy many fun activities, including cycling, hiking, cliff jumping, swimming, snorkeling, boating, and photography.  Dinosaur Park is a small park, popular with kids and history enthusiasts, as it brings to life the prehistoric era with life-sized dinosaur models and educational exhibits. The park is home to real fossilized dinosaur footprints, imprinted on the rocks millions of years ago.   Premantura is a small village known for its narrow streets, historic stone houses, stunning coastline, hidden coves, cliffs, and diverse flora and fauna.  There are several restaurants and taverns offering traditional Istrian cuisine.

Galebijana Cave is located along the coast of Cape Kamenjak, known for its rugged rock formations, where visitors can explore the caves and their inner chambers, where the play of light and shadows within the cave creates an intriguing visual experience.  It is a popular spot for kayaking, boating, swimming, cliff jumping, snorkeling, diving, and sunbathing on rocky ledges.  If you are looking for another nearby attraction, The Medulin Archaeological Site is a significant historical site that offers a glimpse into the region’s ancient past with archaeological sites dating back to Roman and prehistoric times.  Visitors can explore an ancient Roman villa and a range of ancient artifacts, including ceramics, coins, and tools, giving insight into the daily lives of the people who lived in the region.
