Ovahe Beach(Easter Island, Isla de Pascua, Playa Ovahe)

Ovahe Beach is a hidden gem located on the southeastern coast of Isla de Pascua, Chile. The beach is approximately 300 meters long and boasts clear turquoise waters and white sand.

Ovahe Beach has few amenities, so visitors should plan accordingly. Although it does have bathroom access and lifeguards on duty.

Unfortunately, there is no parking lot near Ovahe Beach, and visitors will need to park along the roadside. It is important to note that the road to the beach is unpaved and can be bumpy, so visitors may want to rent a four-wheel-drive vehicle.

Fun fact: Ovahe Beach is considered a sacred place by the Rapa Nui people, the indigenous inhabitants of the island.

Besides enjoying the beach, visitors can also explore the nearby caves, including Ana O Keke and Ana O Rongo. There is also a scenic viewpoint overlooking the beach that is worth a visit.

As for dining options, there are no restaurants on Ovahe Beach, but there are a few options in the nearby town of Hanga Roa. The cuisine is mainly traditional Rapa Nui food with fresh seafood being a prominent ingredient.

For accommodation, there are a few options in Hanga Roa, ranging from budget-friendly guesthouses to luxurious resorts. Visitors can choose to stay in town or opt for a more secluded location closer to the beach.
