Overview
Located in the coastal suburb of the Northern Beaches of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Dee Why Beach is a 1.2-kilometer-long beige sand beach. The beach is tucked between Long Reef Beach and North Curl Curl Beach along Sydney's northern peninsula. It has a beautiful backdrop of a wildlife refuge on its north that separates the beach from the Dee Why Lagoon, whereas to its south is Ted Jackson Reserve, a few restaurants, hotels, and a rock pool, which together provide incredible views of Long Reef Headland and the vast Pacific Ocean. In addition, there is a 400-meter-long seawall with a pathway, stairs, observation decks, and an upper promenade.

In addition, the beach is home to the Dee Why Surf Life Saving Club, which offers lifesaving services to the community and educates and promotes surf safety.

Dee Why Beach is a family-friendly beach that offers many fun activities, including swimming, sunbathing, beachcombing, paddleboarding, surfing, snorkeling, diving, rockpooling, picnicking, and hiking. If you are planning to go into the water, we recommend being careful, as the water is also known to have unpredictable rip currents. Visitors can also enjoy a 50-meter rockpool (a small pool of seawater that forms along the coastline and is a microhabitat that is home to many sea creatures) that is positioned at the eastern end of the beach. The beach is a perfect spot for windsurfing due to its frequently windy weather and great waves from southeasterly winds. If you enjoy fishing, you may catch a variety of fish. Snorkelers and divers may spot an array of marine life, making it a fascinating spot for nature enthusiasts. The beach also hosts many interesting events, including Australia Day, New Year's Eve fireworks, and many sporting events such as the Beachley Classic, Sun Run, Cole Classic, and Ocean Thunder. Dogs are not allowed here, and it is open from sunrise until sunset.

Barrenjoey Lighthouse is a 36-foot-tall lighthouse positioned on the northernmost tip of the Palm Beach Peninsula. It was built in 1888 to monitor the smugglers activities in bringing contraband into Broken Bay, and it has also served as an observation point to watch Japanese ships during World War II. Visitors can climb up the lighthouse and enjoy incredible views of the vast Pacific Ocean.
Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park is spread over 15,000 hectares and is home to a wide variety of landscapes, including forests, woodlands, heaths, rainforests, mangroves, rivers, waterfalls, cliffs, beaches, rocky formations, and Aboriginal sites. Visitors can enjoy many fun activities, including bushwalking, hiking, camping, mountain biking, boating, kayaking, canoeing, horseback riding, picnicking, fishing, and bird watching.
