Lake Kashima is a deep 8.5 acre pool formed by the erosion and then subsequent collapse of limestone rock. The depth of the lake is unknown, but thought to be around 100 to 300 meters. The water is known to be crystal clear and great for swimming and scuba diving. The lake is surrounded by forests and is very picturesque. Also, legends from the Mpongwe people say the lake has a lake monster, though there hasn't been any evidence.
