Dorothea Bay has no lifeguards on duty and no restroom facilities, so plan accordingly. Dogs are allowed on the beach, but they must be kept on a leash.

The beach is approximately 200 meters long and is surrounded by lush greenery and rocky cliffs, making it a popular spot for snorkeling, kayaking, and paddleboarding.

There is no official parking lot at Dorothea Bay, but visitors can park along the roadside. However, the road leading to the beach is narrow and winding, so exercise caution when driving.

Fun fact: Dorothea Bay is also known as ‘Pirate’s Cove’ due to the stories of pirates hiding their treasure in the surrounding cliffs.

In addition to beach activities, visitors can explore the nearby St. Peter Greathouse and Botanical Gardens, a popular attraction known for its beautiful gardens, stunning views, and a wine tasting experience. The Magens Bay Beach and Coral World Ocean Park are also located nearby.
