Traigh Eais Beach

Located in the small village of Eoligarry on the Isle of Barra in the Outer Hebrides, Traigh Eais Beach is a secluded gem that stretches for over a mile along the coast.

The beach has few amenities, so visitors should plan accordingly. However, it does have public toilets and is dog-friendly, making it a great spot to enjoy a peaceful walk with your furry friend.

With its fine white sand and turquoise waters, it is the perfect place for sunbathing, swimming, and snorkeling.

There is a small car park at the beach, and parking is free of charge. From there, it is just a short walk to the sand and water.

Fun fact: Traigh Eais Beach was used as a filming location for the BBC TV series "Castaway 2000".

Aside from enjoying the beach itself, visitors can also explore the nearby Dunard Hostel and Bar, a cozy pub and hostel with stunning views of the bay. There are also plenty of hiking trails in the area, offering spectacular views of the rugged coastline and the neighboring islands.
