Ness Cove Beach

There are a few restaurants and cafes in the area, including the Ness Cove Beach Café, which serves a variety of food and drinks, including fresh seafood, sandwiches, and ice cream.

There are several hotels and bed and breakfasts in the nearby towns of Teignmouth and Shaldon, such as the Potters Mooring Hotel and the Cliffden Hotel, which offer comfortable accommodation and stunning views of the sea.

The beach has limited amenities, however, there is a public toilet and a seasonal beach café available for visitors. There are no lifeguards on duty, so visitors should exercise caution when swimming.

Ness Cove Beach is also popular for swimming and paddling in the shallow waters, as well as fishing and exploring the rock pools.

There is a car park near the beach, which is free for up to two hours, after which charges apply. Alternatively, visitors can park at the Ness car park and walk down the steep path to reach the beach. The walk is a little challenging, but it offers spectacular views of the surrounding cliffs and sea.

Ness Cove Beach is also known as Smugglers Cove, as it is believed to have been used by smugglers to transport contraband in the past.

Visitors can explore the nearby Shaldon Wildlife Trust or take a walk along the South West Coast Path, which offers stunning views of the coastline. Another attraction in the area is the nearby Ness Point Fort, which was built during the 1860s and served as a coastal defence during World War II.
