South Beach

South Beach has several restaurants nearby, including the Bankes Arms, a traditional pub serving classic British cuisine, and the Pig on the Beach, which offers a more upscale dining experience with a focus on local produce.

Studland has several hotels and guest houses nearby, including the Knoll House Hotel, which offers stunning views of the bay and has its own spa facilities. Other options include the Studland Bay House and the Haven Hotel, both of which offer comfortable and convenient accommodations for visitors.

South Beach also has several amenities, including public toilets, outdoor showers, a beach shop, and a café that serves snacks and drinks. Dogs are allowed on the beach but must be kept on a leash.

The beach offers a range of activities such as swimming, sunbathing, beachcombing, fishing, boating and surfing.

There is a large parking lot near the beach, which is paid and is managed by the National Trust. The parking fee is reasonable and provides access to other nearby beaches and facilities. Visitors can also arrive by bus, with regular services to Studland from Bournemouth and Swanage.

Fun fact: South Beach was the site of the rehearsals for the D-Day landings during World War II. The beach was used to practice landing tanks and troops on the shore and played an important role in the war effort.

Apart from enjoying the beach activities, visitors can also explore the nearby Studland Nature Reserve, which boasts a variety of wildlife and scenic walks. The Old Harry Rocks, a stunning formation of chalk rocks located at the end of the beach, is also a popular attraction.
