Rottingdean Beach

Located in the charming village of Rottingdean, Rottingdean Beach is a small shingle beach measuring about 500 meters in length.

Visitors can enjoy activities such as swimming, sunbathing, and fishing. The beach has public toilets and a café. Unfortunately, there are no lifeguards on duty and dogs are not allowed on the beach between May and September.

The beach offers a picturesque setting with its pebbles and shingle sand, and clear blue waters.

There is a small car park located close to the beach, which operates on a pay-and-display system.

Fun fact: Rottingdean Beach was once a popular destination for smugglers who used its secluded location to smuggle contraband goods into the country.

Attractions near the beach include the historic Rottingdean Windmill, the Kipling Gardens, and the St. Margaret's Church, which is home to a beautiful stained glass window designed by Sir Edward Burne-Jones.

There are plenty of dining options near the beach, including The Grange Gallery & Restaurant, a popular seafood restaurant offering stunning sea views, and The Plough Inn, a traditional English pub serving hearty pub grub.
