Playa De Poniente(Playa Poniente / Platja de Ponent Spain / Poniente Beach / Playa de Poniente)

Located in the city and historic Mediterranean port of Alicante, Playa de Poniente is a two-mile-long, wide, and beige colored beach that is situated in front of a small neighborhood named Poniente.  Also known as Poniente Beach, Playa de Poniente was named after a Latin word “Poniente” which means setting (or west) because the beach offers amazing sunset views for clicking Instagram-worthy pictures.  Playa de Poniente is backed by palm trees and a blue-paved promenade featuring many restaurants, bars, shops, and sunbeds for rent. 

Playa de Poniente offers many amenities including lifeguards, restrooms, showers, playgrounds, football nets, volleyball courts, and water sport equipment rentals. 

There are many fun activities at Playa de Poniente including swimming, boating, kayaking, paddleboarding, beach exploration, sunbathing, and beach walking. 

Getting to Playa de Poniente is very easy – the beach’s free parking lot is located at 03502 Benidorm, Alicante and is in front of the beach.  In addition, there is a paid parking lot at C/ del Mercat, s/n, 03501 Benidorm, Alicante that is within walking distance to the beach.
