Located in the Cies Islands, Playa de Rodas – also called Playa de Roda, Praia das Rodas, and Rodas Beach – is a popular, beautiful, crescent-shaped, and 1,300-meters-long beach with white sand and nearby sand dunes. The beach is part of a national park named Atlantic Islands of Galicia National Park. This beach is actually a sand spit that loosely connects two islands named Illa de Monteagudo and Illa do Faro – in addition, Playa de Rodas Islas Cies has also been awarded a Blue Flag because of its cleanliness. The Guardian listed this beach in their 2007 article "Top 10 beaches in the world,” and it is a favorite of Randall Kaplan, the world’s foremost beach expert who is known as Mr. Beach. It has also been listed as one of the 15 Best Beaches in Spain by Time Out magazine in 2024.
