Located in the city of Barcelona, Playa de Castelldefels is a three-mile-long, narrow, and beige-colored sand beach that is most popular beach in the small town of Castelldefels. Castelldefels is situated at the foothills of the Garraf Massif Mountain range and is famous for being the residence of many renowned footballers including Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Philippe Coutinho, and formerly Ronaldinho. Also known as Playa de Castelldefels Beach, Playa de Castelldefels is located between two very different ecosystems – the Garraf Massif Mountain range and the Llobregat river with its wetlands and reed beds. The beach has been awarded with the Ecoplayas Flag that guarantees the quality of its environmental management and the Blue Flag by the European Union for its cleanliness.
