Located in the city of Barcelona, Playa de Castelldefels is a three-mile-long, narrow, and beige-colored sand beach that is most popular beach in the small town of Castelldefels.  Castelldefels is situated at the foothills of the Garraf Massif Mountain range and is famous for being the residence of many renowned footballers including Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Philippe Coutinho, and formerly Ronaldinho.  Also known as Playa de Castelldefels Beach, Playa de Castelldefels is located between two very different ecosystems – the Garraf Massif Mountain range and the Llobregat river with its wetlands and reed beds.  The beach has been awarded with the Ecoplayas Flag that guarantees the quality of its environmental management and the Blue Flag by the European Union for its cleanliness. 

Playa de Castelldefels offers many amenities including lifeguards, restrooms, showers, water sport equipment rentals, handicap accessible features, wooden walkaways along the sand that lead to the water, and a playground. 

There are many fun activities at Playa de Castelldefels including swimming, windsurfing, fishing, boating, sunbathing, and beach walking. 

Getting to Playa de Castelldefels is very easy – there is a paid parking lot at 08860 Castelldefels, Barcelona that charges €5 for a day and is within walking distance to the beach.

If you get hungry, there are many restaurants within a six-minute drive of Playa de Castelldefels.  The Mediterranean restaurant Fosbury Café is located behind Playa de Castelldefels Beach and features snacks, rice, meat dishes, desserts, and breads – it also has waterfront terraces with seating and DJs.  Cheche Restaurant offers prawns, fried calamari, coca bread with vine tomato, and grilled razor clams in an elegant setting with modern decoration and an open kitchen.  Kuk Pizzeria Bar is a pizza restaurant that is a popular dining destination for tourists and locals, serves pizza, empanadas, pies, rolls, and chicken pockets, and has a nice bar.  Another good restaurant near Playa de Castelldefels is Restaurant Salamanca, a seafood restaurant with a nice menu including fried fish, green salad, grilled barat, desserts, and beer.  Restaurant Salamanca also has a list of local and international wines to complement with the food.
