Overview
Located on the southwestern side of the island of Saint Lucia, near the town of Soufriere, Sugar Beach is a small white sand beach that is recognized as one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. The beach has a beautiful backdrop of an opulent hotel, the Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort nestled in a lush green rainforest and tucked between two iconic volcanic peaks, Petit Piton and Gros Piton, on either side along the shores of Pitons Bay, which together provide incredible views of the Caribbean Sea. It is important to note that it is a public beach, so visitors don’t have to be guests of the resort to enjoy the beach.

Sapphire Fall and Jungle Spa offer amazing experiences for visitors to explore the natural rainforest, sulfur springs, mud baths, warm mineral pools, and waterfalls. Millet Bird Sanctuary Trail is a one- and three-quarter-mile moderately challenging hiking trail that offers unique insight into the native biodiversity. Visitors may spot more than 30 species of birds, including five endemic species: the St. Lucia Black Finch, St. Lucia Parrot, St. Lucia Warbler, St. Lucia Oriole, and St. Lucia Pewee. If you are looking for another nearby attraction, Sulphur Springs Park is the only drive-in volcano in the world, where visitors can take guided tours and experience hot springs, mud baths, and unique geothermal activities.
