Praia Da Balbina

Located on the coast of Portugal, on the Iberian Peninsula, in the municipality of Albufeira, Praia da Balbina - also known as Balbina Beach - is a 360-meter-long beige sand beach with many rocky portions.  The beach is mainly divided into three areas by small rocky cliffs.  The main sand is located in the middle section, and one has to cross some rocks to access other parts of the beach.  It has a beautiful backdrop of forested mountains, coastal vegetation, and rocky outcrops, which together provide Instagram-worthy views of the vast North Atlantic Ocean.

Praia da Balbina does not have lifeguards or any other amenities except restrooms, so plan your trip accordingly.

Praia da Balbina offers many fun activities, including swimming, sunbathing, beachcombing, paddleboarding, building castles, strolling, and hiking.  If you are planning to go into the water, waves are usually calm, but we recommend being careful as the water is known to have rocky bottoms.  Hikers can enjoy the nearby hiking trails, which offer unique insights into the local biodiversity.  The beach is ideal for visitors looking for a quiet beach experience, as this beach sees fewer visitors than other nearby beaches.  Dogs are allowed if they are on a leash, and it is open from sunrise until sunset.

Getting to Praia da Balbina is easy - the beach has a few parking spots located near Rua dos Marentas, Traversal Marentas, which provides easy access to the beach.   After parking, visitors have to walk for five minutes on a rugged path to access the beach.
