Anchorage Bay

Anchorage Bay is a stunning beach located in Abel Tasman National Park, New Zealand. The beach is about 1.5 kilometers long and has beautiful golden sand.

The crystal-clear water of the bay is perfect for swimming, kayaking, and boating.

There is a large parking lot available at the entrance of the Anchorage Bay trail. The parking fee is NZD 15 per day. Alternatively, visitors can also reach the beach via a water taxi or a hike from other points in Abel Tasman National Park.

Fun fact: Anchorage Bay was once a popular spot for European whalers in the early 19th century.

In addition to the beautiful beach, visitors can also explore the Abel Tasman Coast Track, which passes through Anchorage Bay. The track is a 60-kilometer walking trail that winds along the coastline, through native forests and over stunning headlands.

There are no restaurants or cafes located directly on the beach, but there are several nearby in Marahau, including Hooked on Marahau, serving seafood and New Zealand cuisine, and The Fat Tui, a burger restaurant with vegetarian options.

There are several accommodation options located in and around Abel Tasman National Park, including lodges, campsites, and holiday homes. Some of the popular hotels in the area include The Resurgence, a luxury lodge with an outdoor pool, and Ocean View Chalets, offering cozy cabins with stunning sea views.
