Taupo Bay

Located in the Bay of Islands-Whangaroa Community, Taupo Bay is a picturesque beach that stretches for 1.5 kilometers.

The beach is also equipped with restrooms, picnic tables, and a playground for children. There are no lifeguards on duty, so it is important to take caution while swimming. Dogs are not allowed on the beach.

With soft golden sand and crystal-clear water, it is perfect for swimming, sunbathing, snorkeling, kayaking, and fishing.

There is a parking lot available for visitors to park their vehicles, and it is free to use.

Fun fact: Taupo Bay was once a busy port, with ships stopping here to take on supplies of kauri gum and timber.

Nearby attractions include the Waipoua Forest, the Cape Brett Walkway, and the Hole in the Rock. Visitors can also take a scenic boat tour around the Bay of Islands.
