Situated close to Devonport town center, Cheltenham Beach is a pristine beach that features splendid views of Rangitoto Island and Waiheke. It is a perfect place to enjoy the awesome views of crystal sea water and golden sand. The calm water is ideal for swimming and kayaking. This beach is only one mile from the ferry terminal of Devonport, making it a very accessible to visitors. Along the walk, you will see some beautifully restored Victorian villas. Balmain Park, Hauraki Gulf Park, Devonport Domain, Woodall Park, and Ngataringa Park are all within walking distance. If you would love to explore the history of Auckland city more, the beach is a short walk from North Head Historic Reserve and Torpedo Bay Navy Museum. The scenic walk along King Edward Parade from the museum will take you back into the centre of Devonport.
