Top Surfing Beaches in Pismo Beach, California
Located in the northern part of Pismo State Beach, the North Beach area is situated near the North Beach Campground, one of the most popular camping spots in central California. The beach has beige-colored sand and is situated beside Pismo Creek, which encounters the Pacific Ocean and forms a lagoon on the beach location. The Pismo Beach Pier is located on the north end of the beach, while the southern end of the beach has a boardwalk on the sandy areas adjacent to the Pismo Beach Golf Course which stretches all the way into the Grover Beach area of Pismo State Beach. You can easily access the beach – it’s located off of US Highway 101 and there’s a walking trail near the North Beach Campground. Neither the beach nor campground areas have parking access so we recommend using the parking spots available near the highway.
Located in the center of the City of Pismo Beach, the northern end of Pismo State Beach gives way to a bustling beach area centered around the iconic Pismo Beach Pier. The southern areas of the beach provide access to the North Beach Campground area where Pismo Creek forms a lagoon while in the north of the beach are volleyball courts, several rock formations, and another beach area (which is also accessible via Wilmar Stairs). The beach is the starting point of a massive stretch of a continuous sandy area that spans several miles and ends in the City of Guadalupe, California.
