Top Surfing Beaches in Crescent City, California
Located in the city of Crescent City, Point St. George is a one-mile-long, wide, and rocky beach situated on the Point St. George Heritage Area. Point St. George is also known as Radio Beach and the historic St. George Reef Lighthouse is six miles offshore on the Dragon Rocks northwest of the beach. St. George Reef Lighthouse is one of the tallest lighthouses in California and you can see it from Point St. George on a clear day using binoculars.
Located in the city of Crescent City, South Beach is a half-a-mile long and wide beach. South Beach welcomes dogs on leash and offers many amenities including picnic tables, driftwoods, a creek, a rock jetty, and a water sports equipment rental shop named South Beach Outfitters that is adjacent to the beach. There are many fun activities at South Beach including surfing, paddleboarding, hiking, and beach walking. Getting to South Beach is very easy – after you get off of Highway 101, turn left and drive one minute to 135 Anchor Way to reach here. There is free street parking available along Anchor Way and Highway 101.
