Pebble Island is filled with penguins, birds, and historical sites from the Falkland War. Visits to the island must be arranged through the Pebble Lodge, and much of the island is only accessible by off-road vehicles. Visitors often stay in the Pebble Lodge, a renovated farmhouse close by many of the sights of the island.
Bluff Cove Lagoon is not just a beach, but a whole experience. The lagoon is on a local family's ranch, and can only be accessed by purchasing a tour through them. There are no roads and the lagoon can only be reached via Land Rover. Once at the lagoon, the main activity is penguin watching, but there is a small shop with souvenirs, a store with freshly baked goods, and museum about the penguins and Falkland history. The Bluff Cove Lagoon Tour is a "must do" activity on East Falkland!
Paloma Sand Beach is situated on Smylie's Farm and is privately owned. Due to lack of roads, the beach can only be accessed by off road vehicles. Once there, visitors enjoy watching penguins and other birds on this wide open, white sand beach.
