Located along the Monterey Peninsula and in the city of Pacific Grove, Asilomar State Beach- also officially known as Asilomar State Beach and Conference Grounds State Park - is a narrow one-mile-long state-protected beach.  This beach is located below oceanfront bluffs.  This beach is managed by the California Department of Parks and Recreation.  Asilomar State Beach is composed of multiple coves that are naturally carved from granodiorite rocks. These coves have both rocky and sandy portions.

Lovers Point Park Beach is a sandy beach surrounded by a community park. The beach is popular for a plethora of activities, including fishing, surfing, beach volleyball, scuba diving, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, and paddle boating. The nearby facilities include a large grass area, swimming pool, concrete pier, restaurant, and snack bar. The rocky shoreline provides climbing and photo opportunities, as well as an unbeatable view of Monterey Bay. The beach also hosts the Feast of Lanterns, a community celebration that includes a lantern pageant and parade at the end of July and is the starting point of the "Kelp Crawl" portion of the Pacific Grove Triathlon in September.
