Top LGBTQ Beaches in Oak Hill, Florida
Located at the southern end of the city of Titusville, Canaveral National Seashore is a national park with a twenty-four-mile long shoreline with beige sand. It is situated on a barrier island that sits along the Atlantic Ocean on one side, and on the other side is Mosquito Lagoon. There is coastal vegetation and dunes near the beach which play a crucial role in the local ecology by stabilizing the dunes, which are home to the endangered marsh rabbit, grey fox, raccoon, spotted skunk, mockingbird, green anole, eastern indigo snake, southern bald eagle, and the gopher tortoise. It serves as a nesting beach for sea turtles which are protected under the United States Endangered Species Act of 1973. According to this act, any person who knowingly violates any provision of the act may be assessed civil penalties of up to $25,000 or criminal penalties of up to $100,000 and up to one year imprisonment. It is important to note that wooden decks on the beach provide safe access across the protected dunes.
