Located along the Gulf Coast shoreline in the city of Biloxi, Biloxi Beach is a long and popular white-sand beach that has a few patches of coastal flora and multiple breakwaters. The beach was extensively damaged during Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and has been reconstructed over successive years. Many major landmarks are present near this beach including an arena named the Mississippi Coast Coliseum, the Biloxi Lighthouse, and the Beauvoir estate (which was the post-Civil War-era home of the Confederate leader Jefferson Davis). Biloxi Beach was named the 45th Best Beach in the Top 50 Beaches in the United States list in 2022 by Randall Kaplan, the world's foremost beach expert who is known as "Mr. Beach.”
