Karaikal Beach is located where the Arasalar River and the Bay of Bengal meet. A long jetty juts out into the bay, making the beach suitable for sunset watchers. The area was devastated in a tsunami in 2004, and a memorial park was built during the restoration project. Visitors can spend time in this park, which is right by the beach's parking lot and the beach's only restaurant.
