Kokoye Beach is a beautiful stretch of sand located in the commune of Petit-Goâve, Haiti. The beach is approximately 1 kilometer long and features soft, white sand.
There are also several vendors who rent beach chairs and umbrellas.
Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities at Kokoye Beach, including swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing.
Kokoye Beach has few amenities, so visitors should plan accordingly, although it does have some food vendors selling snacks and drinks. There is no parking lot available at the beach, so visitors will need to find street parking in the surrounding area.
Fun fact: Kokoye Beach was once one of the most popular beaches in Haiti, but it was heavily damaged during the earthquake of 2010. Since then, efforts have been made to restore the beach and make it accessible to visitors once again.
In addition to swimming and sunbathing, visitors to Kokoye Beach can take a short hike to a nearby waterfall.
There are also several restaurants and cafes in the area serving up delicious Haitian cuisine, such as Griot (fried pork) and Tasso (spicy smoked beef). Two nearby restaurants worth visiting are Restaurant La Source and Restaurant Grillard.
For those looking to stay overnight, there are a few hotels in Petit-Goâve, including Hotel Auberge de la Colline and Hotel Paradise. Both hotels offer comfortable accommodations and are located within a short drive of Kokoye Beach.
