Lepitsa Beach

Located near the town of Porto Cheli, Lepitsa Beach – also called Paralia Lepitsa – is a beach with light brown sand and a few nearby rocky areas.

Lepitsa Beach has lifeguards on a seasonal basis.  In addition, the beach and the area around it have many other amenities including rental facilities for beach chairs and umbrellas near the southern portion of the beach, restrooms, showers, changing rooms, and volleyball nets.

Lepitsa Beach offers many fun activities including sunbathing, hiking, swimming, beachcombing, fishing, kayaking, windsurfing, kitesurfing, canoeing, surf-skiing, wildlife watching, boating, jet-skiing, snorkeling, and paddleboarding.  This beach is ideal for beginner swimmers, kayakers, canoers, surf-skiers, and snorkelers because the water here is mostly calm, warm, clear, and shallow.

If you are planning to swim, kayak, canoe, snorkel, or paddleboard near Lepitsa Beach, we recommend being careful because the water here is known to have unpredictable rip currents.

Lepitsa Beach does not offer wheelchair access to visitors with disabilities.

Getting to Lepitsa Beach is easy – this beach is easily accessible from the nearby village of Kilada and the nearby town of Porto Cheli.  There is a free parking lot near this beach.  We recommend being careful while driving to Lepitsa Beach because the roads to the beach can get slightly rugged.

We recommend being careful and avoiding leaving any valuables in your parked car because burglaries occasionally occur here.  We also recommend visiting Lepitsa Beach early during the summer because it can get crowded.

If you like taking pictures with beautiful views, Lepitsa Beach offers excellent Instagram-worthy views of the Argolic Gulf and the eastern Peloponnese shoreline, particularly during sunsets.

There are many attractions near Lepitsa Beach.  Franchthi Cave is a cave that is also considered to be an archeological site – this cave and the area around it were used for settlement by early humans during the Stone Age.  Today, the cave has interesting exhibits that offer information about Greece’s prehistory – in addition, the area around this cave offers a fun and rugged hiking experience.  The Kranidi Windmills are a group of beautiful and old windmills that offer an interesting insight into local history – in addition, the area around these windmills offers fun cultural events in summers.  The Folklore Museum of Kranidi offers interesting exhibits on the history, folklore, and culture of eastern Peloponnese.  The Honey Museum – also called the Honey and Bee Museum – is a privately-owned museum that offers interesting exhibits on apiculture and manufacture of honey.  If you are looking for another attraction near Lepitsa Beach, Giagias Family Farm is a family-owned farm that offers interesting tours of its premises – this farm has a farmhouse with interesting antiques, a garden, and many domestic animals including cows, hens, horses, ducks, and geese.

If you get hungry, there are many great restaurants near Lepitsa Beach within a 25-minute drive.  Ostria Cafe - Cocktail Bar - Restaurant has a hip ambiance and this restaurant serves a variety of excellent dishes including sushi, Greek cuisine, seafood, breakfast dishes, pastas, and salads.  This restaurant also serves amazing cocktails.  Alexandra Restaurant serves delicious Greek cuisine with innovative culinary influences.  In addition, this restaurant also serves a variety of other dishes including pastas, risottos, seafood, and burgers.  Retro Cafe Bar serves many outstanding dishes including burgers, breakfast dishes, salads, sandwiches, pastas, steak, risotto, fries, and pizza.  If you are looking for another good and affordable restaurant near Lepitsa Beach, PouGou’s Canteen (also called Kantina PouGou) is a seasonal restaurant that serves delicious snacks including sandwiches, souvlakis, and burgers, along with a variety of refreshing hot and cold beverages.
