Agios Andreas Beach, located in Ierapetra, Crete, is a stunning stretch of coastline that offers a mix of sandy and pebbled shores. The beach is named after the Saint Andrew church near the exit of the Kotovianou river. It spans 4 km eastward, starting with a well-organized municipal beach and numerous hotels, gradually becoming more secluded as you move further east. The area is not suitable for nudists due to the main road running along the shore. The beach is ideal for families and offers activities like snorkeling and spearfishing, with amenities such as umbrellas, beds, and lifeguard services. The water is generally calm and deep blue, making it perfect for swimming and relaxation.
The easternmost part of the beach is known as Livadia, followed by Peristeras, a secluded area with high cliffs and a second sandy beach accessible by road. This area is well-protected and offers a serene atmosphere for those seeking privacy.
Visitors can enjoy the local culture and history by exploring nearby attractions and experiencing the vibrant nightlife of Ierapetra.
